RE: AMD has wider loss due to charge on ATI purchase
I think it's pretty bad. I use AMD processors exclusively, and I think they are just as good as Intel processors. I hope investors will keep their shorts on and wheather the financial storm. There is always going to be a lot of bad news at the beginning of a recession. I am sticking with AMD come *ell or high water. If AMD goes under, then Intel is going to SOAK the entire world for cash. If AMD goes under, I think the U.S. Govt will have no alternative other than to break Intel up because it would be a world monopoly. It's not in Intel's best interest to do their only rival in...not a smart move either...nor do I think the US Govt wants to jump in there and force a breakup of Intel to prevent monopolism. I hope investors see this and realize that if AMD falls, the entire processor powerhouse in the US may fall as well...and that isn't going to be good business for anyone, not now, not for the future.
