I agree a monopoly is not a good thing and I don't believe that would even happen, but having said that the market would only bare so much if Intel were increase prices too much. A couple of years ago when AMD was living the high life with the fastest processors we did not see Intel complain to the EU or any other government agencies for help. They went back to the drawing board and come up with a superior product. Intel found away to design a more powerful processor and lower power consumption processors at a lower cost and it's working for them. Thats what good business does.
