Anti-Trust laws are fine if not abused
If AMD produced a product as good as Intel's current product it would sell itself and would not need government protection / intravention. In this case there is no customer protection envolved at all. AMD simply has not been able to match the performance of the Intel Core 2 product so more people are buying Intel. The more product Intel sells the cheaper the price gets. How does the EU know exactly what Intels actual cost is to produce processors and secondly it is none of their business. If Intel wants to lower prices that great news for consumers not bad news. AMD needs to do their best to make a better product plain and simple and when they do they can ride the high life like Intel is now!!! When the EU charges large fines to companies who do you think actually pays for it? Beleive me it's not the company, it's the comsumer that will pick up the tap through higher prices on future product. Simple economics!!
