RE: Intel to respond to EU antitrust charges Monday
I personally have no issue with a company attempting to promote the sales of their product via rebates etc. My stance on this issue remains as such so long as the company 'in question' offers good products and presents a good image.

AMD fails in every way. It's CPUs lag behind Intel's, and they don't deliver when they promise to. On top of that, when they do deliver (late) they 'underdeliver'. That creates a very bad reputation for a company.

Being in charge of my company's IT inventory and purchases, I go out of my way to ensure none of our employees utilizes an AMD processor, none of our Servers utilize an AMD processor and that none of my family uses an AMD processor. I once experienced an AMD system a while ago - though I will concede that most technology improves over time - one cannot simply ignore one's first impression. AMD failed me and I refuse to let it fail me or anyone I know.

And now, I've grown apart from ATI Radeon as well. I mean, I can't knowingly be such a strong supporter of Intel and also support ATI. So I too try my best to ensure all video sysems in a computer are either Intel Integrated for people who don't need a dedicated GPU or utilize an nVidia GPU.

But back on topic, I have never had issue with Microsoft Products...even Vista...even Vista 64 bit. So any move my MS to try and get its product sold is no issue on me as I enjoy their products and they work for me. With the move of Macs to Intel and their new Leopard OS, Apple doing the same things will again...not affect me as I too enjoy them as well. Thank goodness Macs didnt go with AMD. Don't you think there is a REASON why Apple is ONLY intel now? I feel even THEY realize the superior quality and the positive company reputation they have for delivering on their promises in proper volumes with great boosts in performance and effeciency.

Granted even intel has its black sheep processors and I avoid celerons like the plague. Dual Core Celerons sounds to me like twice the plague in one hehe.

If AMD can't battle Intel, someone will simply have to create a processor company that produces a product superior to the best of the Quad Core Penryns and future Nehalems and deliver the product as promised.

If someone achieves that, needless to say I won't take a second thought in betraying my loyalty to intel. Seeing as there is a small chance of that happening any time soon, I have no worries.

Windows and Mac is the same to me - No such thing as Mac vs PC - Mac IS Pc and PC is..well..still PC lol...they both run on intel. Its all about AMD vs Intel nowadays happy I grew up on a 486, and followed the Pentium line all the way to Core2. I plan to get a Penryn mac once one is released, and then go all out on a nice multicore nehalem happy

Viva Intel! happy
