Too Confident...
I think you are a bit over confident in the EU's capibilities and values.

This is about money... plain and simple. If it wasn't who would care what MS does. Don't cite religous convictions of the EU based on history either.

Tell you what, we'll watch and see. I think MS will get hammered somehow on this, most likely not nearly the billions and changes to the OS as the EU would want. But I would guess that when it is over it will seem/feel just like the US' remedy, and MS will survive.

Net effect... Not really anything.
