assume makes an ass of u and me
Of course there are some Europeans who are able to be bought. But it is not as deeply embedded in the accepted culture as it is in America and therefore Microsoft. Lets stick to specifics. In Europe it is illegal for a business to give money to a politician in exchange for support (i.e. favourable laws and court case results). This is entrenched and ingrained in the business dealings of most Europeans.

On the other hand, in the US it is pretty much the status quo for the richest, fattest, biggest corporations to pay huge bribes to politicians in exchange for unfair competitive advantages and other favours. Companies with no money to contribute in the US get NOTHING in the way of politically achieved advantage. How fair and democratic. "To the richest, the spoils". God bless the US way.

The convicted American monopolists will not be able to buy a favourable outcome in Europe. Therefore, they are stuffed. But, since Microsoft consider themselves above and beyond the laws the rest of the business universe have to adhere to, they will ignore any EU ruling.

And as a result Open Source will get another massive boost.

Didn't I already say that in the last post?

Never mind, it's still true in ths one.
