How PC of you.

Few question the idea that the climate is warming, as the evidence is pretty conclusive. Many sane and reasonable people do question the idea that the current warming trend is entirely or even slightly caused by human activity. Our planet has gone through many cycles of warming and cooling, some far more severe than what we are seeing today, without human influence. Rushing headlong into radical changes will not only damage world economies, but could do harm to the environment as well. I feel no shame urging thoughtful and cautious actions rather than the Chicken Little approach being sold to the masses.

I do believe, however, that we are past the time when we should be moving away from fossil fuels and towards cleaner, renewable energy from solar, wind, geothermal, and nuclear sources. Besides the obvious political reasons for reducing our dependence on oil, I would argue that we are wasting a valuable resource by depleting the world's oil supply simply to power our vehicles. Converting to a hydrogen based fuel system would end our energy crises, clean up the environment, and preserve the remaining oil supplies for better uses. If I feel any shame in this matter, it is that we are not leading the world into the era of hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles instead of wasting money on corn subsidies.
