Non - IT Skills - A Must?

In the company where I work now, I am seeing a big curve in the growth path for the better.

As the company is growing, I find that lack of interpersonal relations is hampering the schedules of product development.

Email is being used just to have records - "Hey I have done my job, Please check on your side". This is being done just to make sure that when there is a delay in releases they can just say look here there is nothing wrong from my end.

I feel senior people should have better inter personal skills and give up the myth that to be senior you need to be a techie and keep up as a techie by enhancing technical skills.
