We love You
You post, you contribute. We love you for that. The issue isn't geek. It use to be that folks were type cast into IT. I saw it many times.

The company's founder had a jerk son or daughter that needed a place to go where they would not embarrass the board and the IT department was a good place to lose them. But that all stopped when IT folks started pulling in more than 80,000. All kinds of personalities were then attracted to our industry. Today we have not just jerks who are rude to corporate level board members and unfeeling logical Mr Spocks but folks skilled in narrative communication and even "people skilled" empathetic types. Money did that.

My point is more to the now. Now it is fundamentally important for productivity to be able to communicate via Email Blogs and even chat rooms. Those who are not developing skills in these areas - those "People skilled" visual communication lots of meetings folks just will not have a place in US society unless they can be more like us, stop being so sensitive and start viewing electronic communication as a necessary part of staying employed. In the past their people skills kept them employed. I am questioning if that will continue to be the case because every US business is seeking productivity improvement each and every year.
