I don't mind

that IE comes with Windows. I think that's fine. But I
should be able to use the alternative browser I want all
the time. If I want to do software updates, I have to
use IE. I think you also need IE to do the Genuine
Validation in Vista as well (correct me if I'm wrong).

The web standards thing has been a big pain forever.
Not only does IE render CSS differently than all other
browsers, but IE6 renders differently than IE7! That's
nuts! My company advises our customers not to use IE
because we're never sure if things will work right, but
we still try to build in as much compatibility as possible
since we know they'll use it anyway. We should not
have to do that.
