Complete nonsense
Wipe away all the conspiracy hyperbole and the fact remains that the oil companies will continue to wipe out alternatives simply because oil IS cheaper than the alternatives, and will continue to be so for quite some time to come. The day the price of oil hits the "tipping point" of where investors decided that alternatives make economic sense, it will happen.

But I have a simpler question for you: What makes you think that politicians (who, ironically are the same people you basically claim are owned by the oil industry) are qualified to objectivly pick which technology is right to replace oil? After all the material you've supplied, what rational person could conclude such a thing?

But don't believe me; look at the ethenol fiasco; it's far more expensive than oil. After all of the factors of production are considered, uses more oil, is actually more polluting, taxes natural resources far more, and is even now globally affecting the cost of everything from food to real-estate. All this because the all-knowing soviet-style centeral-planning politicians decided that ethenol was to be the solution to our energy and environmental problems. Oh, and this all happened even against the interests of the all-powerful oil industry that supposedly controls us all.

And you actually think these same clowns are still qualified to pick the next energy winner? Talk about cognative disconnect!
