The cost of CO2
It would cost at least 3 cents per kWh to sequester the CO2 from coal. That's a 30% increase.

So to be fair, Solar should get at least that much of a break. Instead the tax breaks amount to far less. At least it's better than nothing. Now all kinds of idiots want to put an end to that.

Ausra's model shows that they can produce grid competitive electricity with solar thermal WITHOUT TAX BREAKS - BUT ONLY AFTER THEY BUILD THE PLANT. Killing this tax break is a great way to insure that that plant is never built.
