And when are the other technologies going to pay their share?
Oil, NG, Coal are degrading the common's, CO2 -> GW.
Eventual cost to califorina residents??
Hundred trillion dollars+, as it's expensive water front properties go under water, then the coastal cities, then a big chunck of the central valley. (A lot sooner than one might think !!!)

Nuclear energy indirectly degrades the commons.
Depends on fossil fuels to obtain the uranium it needs.
EROEI(~5/4 to 1) drops as te high grade ores(10,000ppm) are consumed. Once the U grade drops below 150ppm (~40 years, EROEI ~2:1 or less), you end up mining & chemically refining 4-5 million tons of ore per year just to keep one GWe reactor operational. And forget the fantasey of using fictional breeder reactor designs to make more fuel, Califorina doesn't need another Stana Susana type meltdown (Way worse than TMI, government active parcipant in the cover up).

In most states, polution control equipment added to a conventional fossil plant is not taxed. In that same vein, all Solar/wind installations/improvements to any property should be consider non-taxable. I.E. One of humanities polution control efforts/answers to GW.
