I disagree
Not true exactly. Solar can survive on it's own right now problem is it takes a capitol cost to implement it. The ROI is there but it doesn't compare to fossil fuel ROI. So if you want to move to cleaner energy you need to give incentives or you could just wait until oil prices hit 2 or 3 hunder dollars a barrel where it's not feasible to use them then scramble for the alternatives. That will force the deal too but it will be much much more painful.

Subsidizing solar now is proactive for the future we know. Only real problem is as you get more cleaner sources of energy oil prices stabalize. The demand decreases and the price drops then the solar energy become more expensive as people flock back to the cheaper fossil fuels.

So basically fossil fuels are cheaper now but won't stay that way if we continue to use them. If we cut back on the use the cost will remain low and the desire to go the cheap way would be attractive. Really we need to subsidize any alternative energy sources then out law oil use all but authorized demands. Something just need oil. Buring it is just stupid. I can see it now as I tell my grandkids how we used to burn oil and they will think we were all so stupid.
