'That's the problem when you elect a president who who cannot think for himself and must rely on his advisors.'

wed better not elect *anybody*, then.

they *all* either listen to their advisors or their pollsters.

the job of a president is akin to that of a ceo; he should surround himself with people smarter than himself (on their respective individual issues and skillsets) and manage their tasks and make decisions on their work and recommendations. a ceo cannot be involved in the day-to-day operational 'dirty work', so to speak, so he has to rely on others to do it for him. if he makes bad choices in the people he puts in various positions, his decisions will suffer based on their work.

One man cannot be an expert on everything, and politicians are generally only experts at being political.

the problem here is not the president, but the advisor. you think kerry is an expert on technology and telecommunications? think again. the only way youll get a better result out of him is if his *advisor* is better than bushs.
