It's OK. Let's see the Linux popularity in 1-2 years when people would really be POed on the flimsyness of other dominant desktop platforms.

Your impression of the state of Linux of 5 years AGO is wrong. FYI Linux took big evolution steps especially when the 2.6.x kernel was released. It looks increasingly more like mature UNIX than a toy OS.

On the other hand, the progress of other dominant platforms is DISMAL at best. The user apps have not offered anything new in the last 5 years. The security of these systems is deplorable. Worse yet, it CANNOT EVEN GET FIZED, even after repeated (hysterical) attempts from the s/w giant.

It's OK, go back to sleep. Linux is just a 2% of the it world...
