That Admin or whatever you wish to call him also has to worry about licensing issues when handing that disk to the user. With linux you don't need to worry about this, unless it's a proprietary offering from a company(yes there are a few of these for linux). As linux user says, it's simple if you know your way around in linux(referring to the RDP method). There is a learning curve in everything new to people no matter what profession. Not one company does the exact same thing another does, so no matter where you go, you have to learn their ways and standards of doing things. Take it this way, an engineering firm has a set of CAD standards, you transfer to this company and are used to different standards (be it pen plotting, a way of masking plots, etc.), you have to learn this standard before your work can be approved by a PE, because thats the way it is. Same thing in the linux/windows networks, you have to learn as you go, but eventually it becomes habit and you become happy with it. Go with what you like and what fits your business needs. Sometimes you get people trying to persuade you one way or another, but in the long run, it's go with what you feel comfy with. Some people are comfy with linux, some with windows. You also have to look at it with the hassle factor, learning curve with linux, and patching/security updates/problems with windows. There are goods and bads with everything in this world.
