One must assume that the in-car system includes a GPS -- so, on a second-by-second basis, they are recording your position as well as how you are driving. Wonderful.

One can only wonder when all that data will be handed over to the Government or anyone who is able to raise a court order to get it. (Ex-wife, girlfriend, employer...)

No need to have police issue parking or speeding tickets anymore -- just install an in-car printer to generate them automatically based on the car's actual recorded speed and position.

And what if you refuse to install the box -- well, you will no doubt be able to look forward to multiplying your insurance rates -- after all, you must have something to hide, right?

Won't be too long before you will be banned from driving without installing one -- we've seen how slippery that slope is.

Of course it isn't enough that they can already track you through your mobile phone. Now, they'll also be able to tell who is travelling with you when all available information is merged.

How much do you trust the insurance companies with that data? (Considering the huge 'accidental' loss of personal data the UK government just had.)

Things are getting more frightening every day -- of course, it is in the name of 'offering you better rates' or 'for your convenience' -- isn't it...
