Notice this is based on nothing new.
This is garbage science.

They study other studies and decide that they have discovered something new when they are simply restating other people's results.

You will notice that social soiences types are notorious for over-footnoting their work and very often the citations they make do not support their views. It is almost inevitable that they have come to a conclusion and then seek out reasons to believe it.

They simply try to seem authoritative by posting a zillion footnotes knowing full well about nobody checks them to see if they actually support their point of view.

Try to make yourself do it sometime.. take any social services paper like this one and actually check out the references footnoted.

They create dozens of mutually referential papers and say "Gee, look at all of this acdemic research that supports this point of view!"

The only problem is that there is little supporting it all... they stand in a circle and use each other as "authoritative references".
