This is all well and good in some regard. But like all sequestration methods there is always a "but."

In this case it is that the baking soda, if it ever comes into contact with even a mild acid it will decompose back into CO2 and Na+ (Acetic acid for example in vinegar - old volcano trick).

This may actually still turn out to be the best option... it may be much easier to store than pumping it under ground and hoping that the oil wells or aquafers hold the CO2. The underground method also is usually used to increase oil yeilds from depleted wells... kind of defeats the purpose.

The Point: DON'T BE FOOLED BY QUICK GLOBAL WARMING SOLUTIONS.
