Sooner or later is now
"Sooner or later we are going to have serious problems in modern society because we have not paid attention to the ground floor of security"

I have argued in the past that the Feds etal are not the greatest threat to the general Americans privacy and privacy theft. It is the amatures.

With a license plate number and twenty dollars anyone can go to the county courthouse and find out the name of the owner, where he/she lives, property taxes owed, liens against, any court records, birth/death certificates and eventually with a little digging liscense numbers, both drives and professional and social security numbers.

There ARE websites that can provide this info to a substantial cost, but why with a little footwork the cost can be cut. There are websites that many cities and counties maintain databases providing much of the info mentioned above.

Ask your self this, does your doctor or pharmacy protect your medical records. There have many pharmacies that have been caught throwing away records with mass amounts of personal info. What do you throw away? Amazing what can be found in ones own garbage that can help an identity theif. A good shredder is a must.

Oh well my two cents worth.
