Neat idea, can you get enough members?
Having had a machinist friend build a punch and die set for a product I sell, I can see this being useful. Some question that I see:
What is the sq footage needed to be successful?
Where is the expertise to operate the equipment?
Given the fumes from plasma cutting, what air scrubbing is needed?
Given the many solvents and oils used in machining, the EPA is at your door. Given the danger in machining OSA is there too. How are these overcome?
Getting materials needed from suppliers is another issue too.
