Love the revisionist history!!
As cell phone operators push their 3G data services, new cell phones outfitted with Wi-Fi capability are also being introduced.

Apple's iPhone was one of the first to reach the American market.

Hehe, only if we ignore the hundreds of phones (many running MS OS, Apple copies MS yet again) that have had WiFi for years.

I also have to wonder about the title of this article that can only be described as being "inspired by real events". Chasing the iPhone? Google denies they are chasing the iPhone and even if they are "lying", even the author admits that it won't be a phone at all but software. Microsoft also denies they are chasing the iPhone (which history supports considering MS+HTC beat Apple by a long shot in this market) and are concentrating more on server side software to support mobile devices.

It is clear to me that Apple is paying a lot of money to ZDNet considering the blatantly false anti-MS articles and the blatantly false pro-Apple stories that are printed here every day.
