GM is REALLY pushing its "On Star" as the solution. Let them take care of it all and if you have a problem "talk" to someone that solves it, all for a very nice monthly fee.
If it were all simple, if instead of talking to On Star it talked with your home PC (or allowed set up with the home PC via wireless) then there would be no need of the monthly fee.
