Patent trolls are when you are unable to be commercially successful, sit back and wait to snare an enterprise out to advance an industry. They are all over the place.
In the case of Transmeta, they failed miserably ib being late to market and then it performed poorly when then did get it out versus Intel's Centrino. What do ya do? Become a Patent Troll. With the $250M, they can buy out other patent trolls and do nothing but sit and wait.
