Its amazing that only now is American Electric & general Electric going to build and deploy these "Smart Meters" In Canada we are already using them in some areas in Ontario. The way it works here is that if you use high electricity during the peak hours you are charged a higher rate which means if you use your oven to cook supper or wash you laundery and dry them or wash your dishes using hot water from and electric water heater you will pay dearly. It is going to force people to change their life style around and do these things at a later hour.
