i try to keep my server room clean, but sometimes you have to look at reality. If i add servers, then i need to cable them. If i cable them, then i have to deal with the cables. The cables have to go somewhere. I also have to be able to pull the server out while it is running, so now i have extra cable length behind each server for each cable.

Now there are cable management arms that are generally supplied with the servers i buy, but more often than not, i have more cables than arm capacity.

So in the end, i keep it as clean as possible. You can walk around my server room without tripping, but if you look under the hook, you will find a mess of wires.
