The ascetic and /or pristine look is easy to maintain on a system that is small or with a sizeable work force in a small to medium environment. These are the server rooms that would win all the awards. In reality most server rooms control a vast system of networks that require constant tweaking and revision. To maintain such an environment would be cost prohibitive.
