Ridiculous argument ...
A free and open world is not a world with out order. And it is government that provides that order. Government routinely puts a gun to every citizens head when they require them to pay taxes and in some cases serve in the military. Thus the "free and open world" argument is really just a euphemism for anarchy in whatever realm suits the writer's convenience. In a truly free and open world, one would not have to worry about respecting the property of others or any other restriction on doing what they please. But of course the phrase sounds very noble and appealing and so it is convenient to use it in order to maintain the status quo in the case of marketplace monopolization. But actually, no, I don't think it will take a gun, perhaps a court ruling, a fine, whatever, but I doubt if a gun would ever be necessary.
