Actually the price is dependant on
a number of factors:

1. Are you going net zero? As in off grid 100%? Gonna cost you for batteries and a large PV system.

2. What are your KW requirements?

3. What kind of roof do you have?

4. Are there obstructions on your roof?

5. What are your lighting conditions?

6. Is your roof south facing? If not, gonna cost for a mounting system to get the panels facing true south.

These are just off the top of my head. But you are correct on the payback AND comparison to a car and solar. devil
