In part it doesn't matter because
competitors learned to create, shape and reenter markets by appealing to consumers around MS, versus trying to drive thru it. Some learned that consumer recognition solely through them being the prosecution in a trial case didn't necessarily sell their wares, but advertising and making deals and partnerships in the market actually could gain them. They also learned that negative publicity didn't necessarily grow them a large marketshare but regulation could.
