Please let Novell take the reins...
If we strip away the insanity of Darl McBride's ludicrous crusade, SCO's various operating systems were very important to the growth of the computing industry that exists today. SCO Unix was the first operating system to support multiple processors and more than 64MB of RAM in a single x86-based system. It would be a shame to have those platforms - OpenServer and Unixware - disappear from the available options because of the short-sighted nature of one man's legal windmill battle (think Don Quixote without the romance).

As part of the solution to the Chapter 11 filing and the payment to Novell, let Novell's team take the reins and bring SCO back to life. Publicly apologize to the Linux community for the attacks made by the Darl McBride legal brigade, and then bring all of the SCO partners back to the table for a reinvigoration of the platforms. Maybe even share a bit of the love with the Linux world and offer all three platforms via that channel - OpenServer, Unixware, and SuSE Enterprise and desktop Linux.

Of course, that will never happen because it's in the best interest of the SCO customer base rather than the lawyers, but it's a good thought.
