More proof that IP laws need rewriting ..
As far as SCO is concerned, it's good riddance to bad rubbish. But in their process of dying off, they causeed a lot of grief to a lot of people and companies. And it all went into the lawyers' pockets.

I got a fund-raising letter from some leukemia foundation today. It said that the donated funds had helped Doctor X develop a new type of drug treatment. When I googled the drug name, I got a big story about how X and Big Drug Company Y had patented this drug, and how much it would contribute to Y's profit margin over the next 20 years.

THAT IS JUST WRONG. People donated money to finance this research, and now some doctor and drug company are cashing in on it!! The IP and patent laws have got to change, or the big corporations will end up owning the "rights" to everything, with legions of attack lawyers to sue anyone who breathes without their permission (and payoff).
