Al Qaida is also a transnational big business
The war on terrorism is a war on transnational big business.

But let me elaborate on your post. I also dislike the hood of religion on a terrorist organization and point out again that those who wish to return to the pre-WWII "good old ways", the German Stasi, in particular, are likely active and I think use the hood of religion, like our US Klue Klux Klan terrorists used white hoods 50 plus years after the US Civil War because it serves to confuse and frighten.

The Saturday WWJ picked up a few of our thoughts here on Zdnet regarding this. There was quite a front page article. Lets also not forget the IRA. Terrorist organizations are predictable about 50 years after a war is concluded. Those nostalgic about the old ways consider them selfs patriots - is that what you are saying? In anycase...

The war on terror will be won by fighting the funding sources of the terrorist organizations and making it very costly to family wealth for any individuals participating. This is how the US beat the KKK and it will be how the good old pre WWII boys will be defeated as well. My feeling is that Skull and Bones members are good old pre-WWII boys. Think that one through and see traitors from Harvard/ Yale.

On a positive note. This war will be won. Web 2.0 is the weapon and digital democracy is the reality.
