possibly why: Man in China dies after 3 days on line
This happened to me: I'm a professional photographer and in a rush to a deadline I spent about 30-odd hours editing photographs. I ignored the burning pain in my legs and suffered the consequences.

Back Story:
Most people have heard if they are going to take a long flight, for instance, half way around the world or more. That they should from time to time stand up, walk around to exercise one's legs so fluid won't pool there. (It's lymph fluid.)

My Story Continues:
Well, I didn't exercise my legs all the time I was on the computer, other than a quick trip to the bathroom.

The lymph fluid gathered in my legs so much that they ballooned from knee to ankle. Finally there was so much fluid it started to leak out thru the skin. Dozens of fluid-filled blisters formed. One was larger than the old silver US Dollar coin. Then they became infected. This was over two months ago and I'm still fighting the aftermath.

My theory is that the fellow in China gathered so much fluid in his legs that his body reacted. Maybe he threw a clot like that reported in the early days of the Iraq War who sat cramped for too long.

When I lived in Japan in the late 60s I observed men in Pachinko parlors who wouldn't leave due to their gambling addiction. Someone might do research to see what the death rate is in those places, too. I'll bet it's not the Internet, it's a mental addiction to the excitement.
