RE: House votes to overhaul patent system
This bill gives carte blanche to the multinationals for large scale and remorseless espionage. If allowed to go ahead no inventor will be safe from hidden api's in software or pattern matching in search engines. No inventor would be able to use electronic means to research even tangentially a breakthrough invention. Couple this to the scope of search capabilities US law enforcement has been gifted in the wake of 911, and the advent of secret dealing between such agencies and US corporations and you have open slather on using 'intelligence' from the 'war on terror' to give utterly unprecedented power to US corporations to intercept and take for themselves any interesting technology that may be invented anywhere in the world. This is potentially so corrupt as to begger either belief or description - and so lucrative that it becomes almost certain that this will happen (it alreay does to a lesser extent) and is very easily made seem pure and good under the guise of 'holding back the fores of darkness'

I think that this single bill will trigger WWIII
