The moment I hear that a complaint is our patent system isn't like those in foreign countries, I know the bill should be killed. The U.S. patent system is designed specifically to protect the independent inventor. Foreign systems are designed to protect the state and their crony businesses.

Most of these litigations the big companies are whining about occur because they try to squash a little guy who invented something in his basement. Rather than buying the invention, the big corporation just bulldozes him over. Fortunately, U.S. patent law generally favors the little guy. Unless this bill passes.
