Amazing Anti-Profit Article!

Here is a newsflash: if alternative fuels or energy was profitable we would see it all over the United States and the world! But it is not because not even fat subsidies from the US government can make it work. In fact all the subsidies are doing is driving the costs of our corn and consequently food up.

Also, I am not sure what you mean by an "environmental cost" and "geopolitical cost" of oil, coal and natural gas. There is an an oil market, a gas market and a coal market where buyers and sellers meet to figure out the prices - it prices those things.

I don't need the government to "nudge" me in any direction to see the benefit of energy efficiency. If I can't afford to pay for my energy use then I stop consuming. If I can afford to pay for my energy use then I keep consuming. I can consume because I can also produce for our society! What a novel idea.

The entire article is an emotional piece with a call to action for letting our government control our lives even more and denouncing "profit". The same profit that has given you and me what we have today.
