JetBlue said the goal is to be sole sourced ....
JetBlue claims to be a 100% M$ shop. Now granted you did say most shops; however, JetBlue is tearing up the commercial airline industry with its incredibly low cost structure. Can't their single source IT system make a strong case the contrary?

They said they wanted to consolidate little MS servers onto a Windows Mainframe and get rid of non-Windows stuff.

Wonder how that efforts going?

But, Even customers who love JetBlue still use other vendors when they try to fly somewhere JetBlue doesn't.

Same with IT, no single vendor can or should be 100% of the solution. Attemps to dumb down the dtaff and save by paying staff less money are ... well ... the wrong investment. But then, maybe JetBlue has no need for an IT shop that can control its destiny and they feel its best to outsource their system work ... good for them!
