- Your ignorance is astounding

Gee I guess I have to spell it out for the mentally disabled. Ok then, the theory behind second source implies cross platform compatibility. Are you with me so far? No. Well what happens when your system crashes due to viruses, hackers, bad OS? Do you move it to that second source which has the same vulnerabilities? Well you would if you were retarded but like any rat in a maze, eventually those electric shocks to your gonads will communicate something and you will probably transfer your system to a second source that lacks those vulnerabilities. But can your code port? Can your DB port? Can your DB middleware port? It can if you plan for cross platform compatibility.
As a friend of mine that runs some high end enterprise level Oracle systems at Boeing once told me, he said they never use PL-SQL and I said why? He said well what if we want to move that DB to DB2 or SQL Server? That code only works with Oracle and so we would have to rewrite all the code.
A truly second source system would lack the vulnerabilities of the first system. And in order to avoid coding all the same stuff all over for this other system, you plan for it ahead of time by making all your code and your data platform independent.
Any idiot who uses the exact same system for a second source is just asking for the problem to be repeated or to be perpetuated. - Posted by: poocow666 Posted on: 06/17/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
