Functional backup systems really isn't the issue here.

Microsoft's code worse then........
well the problem is not Microsoft code as TCP/IP not are developed by them
more a problem of MS naive automation of, as far as I know, all functional ports !!

How is it possible to make a fix, when millions of XP equipped Pc's remotely
programmable to almost any WWW task there is,,
are distributed in millions among common / zero knowledge, users ?,,,
that themselves never will find any application for XP's raw TCP/IP sockets.

A schedule of forced automated reduction of the XP sockets on existing IP connected machines....
It will cause even more easy to abuse technology.

These, referred to as "seismic events" are only a result of premature application of
Science fiction, originally an idea of "Universal plug in and play",
O.K. it's a lot of playing but...................

Just for someone to pick up a bike and put in the "second source" in all XP's out there.
as no one today has the courage to disconnect them from W3.
