Not just money

I understand that not everyone is motivated by money. "A piece of the action" also implies influence and control of the outcome, whatever you believe the best outcome would be.

I've read some of the social networking literature (e.g. Wikinomics). There are some good points in it that we need to incorporate into how we use technology and also in how we run our corporations. I just find it counter-productive to rage against the machine. Better to be an evangelist gathering people into the fold than the lone prophet in the wilderness.
