The typical capitalism-uber-alles rhetoric:

"If AT&T and Comcast get money in the process, so be it. If you want a piece of the action, either buy stock in the companies that benefit or get ahead of them with the next technology so they have to buy your company."

Is it inconceivable that anybody could possibly be motivated by something other than money? That maybe, rather than simply looking for a "piece of the action" I actually have other goals I'd be interested in achieving?
