Out of Country Monied Elite stand to loose Billions
As one who does not invest but has sold expert systems to fund managers, let me spin this a bit differently.

It is not a mortgage meltdown but rather a return to traditional US values that explains the current stock market.

After this bridge collapse on the Mississippi and revelation that there are trillions of bucks of unfunded infrastructure projects in country, it is not likely that foreign national monied elite will be able to influence US corporate business executives to do wrong by seeking corporate tax breaks.

We in the USA are going to see fewer US corporate executives with hearts of darkness like at Enron and Microsoft and that translates into more taxes on US businesses, because bottom line - corporate tax used to build roads helps business by getting the employees to work. It also helps US business in establishing a dot commons and both these things are economic engines. Only foreign investors do not benefit from corporate tax.

So these out of country monied elite (think Saudi Oil Sheiks) are going to loose billions if they have not already.

The mortgage "problem" can not really be one. Bankruptcies in the USA usually are caused after the tax man has assessed penalties for not paying taxes. A simple act by our government officials can deal with that and they appear willing to do so.
