Peak electricity consumption is during the day, right? Most folks will charge their cars overnight, when power plants have excess capacity, and when power companies sometimes even have discounted rates.

And even though the electricity may be coming from fossil fuels, electric power generation plants are both more efficient and cleaner than internal combustion engines in cars.
