The point I was trying to make ...
against the original topic of discussion was that I felt that Congress was wasting it's time grandstanding with this legislation while ignoring things that affect my life every day. These include making less and less money every year after taxes, having to pay cable bills that are so high because of specific laws passed by Congress favoring cable monopolies, and because Congress refuses to deal with the problem of offshoring skilled jobs overseas.

The original topic was such a non-starter to me that I didn't think it deserved a whole lot of point-by-point discussion.
