Sell the Infrastructure to Multi-National Corporations
Then let those corporations charge tolls. This will be the response of the Bush Administration. This is what we have done in the Seattle area with a Tacoma Narrows bridge. The highways are the mechanism of commerce in this nation. They indirectly subsidize every business because workers use them to get to work. The bridges - in particular - are attractive to mulit-national corporations who view them a choke points where it is always possible to charge a supernormal price. This was the lesson of Enron with choke points for energy and it is the lesson we are learning with last mile Internet connectivity.

Lets just be clear. This was allowed to happen to advance an agenda. See the public-private partnership that will fall out of this. But recognize that patriots have had just about enough. Nationalization of the highways and the Internet super highway is at hand. These are fundamental to the well being of those living here.
