The music industry is getting desperate. They have absolutely no clue how to make money off the new technology. A few years ago I supported their position, but not any more. They're greedy overpaid hacks. They made an incredible amount of money because they controlled the medium of exchange. Good musicians will still make money. They are simply going to come back down to Earth. I could care less if Elton John is not making what he used to. I could care less if an upcoming star doesn't have the free cash to live a totally coked-out party lifestyle. In addition the internet is leveling the playing field. This is what is really scaring the music industry. In ten years they will no longer be the middle men for new artists. Amateurs and professionals are going to be seen as equals. This is a change that music desperately needs and the real musicians will benefit. If they're smart they won't piss away all their money.
