P.T. Barnum's Ghost
It's appropriate that this article opens by acknowledging P.T. Barnum, one of Huxterism's forefathers.

What's sad is that despite all our technological advancement and scientific knowledge, grown men and women are still wasting their time and money chasing ghosts. Worse yet, new devices and software are going to make it easier to advance fraudulent claims, and easier for the deceitful to exploit the gullible.
