- quit society?

That's your answer. I think that at the current pace in technological development your little house might get very cramped in a big hurry. The coutry side you are refering to would get crowded very quickly indeed. I think we are fast aproaching a new world order and it's not the one the elite is hoping for.
The present economical model depends on people buying the stuff that is being produced. What good is a factory if the goods can't be sold because no one can afford to pay the price. It will not be long when the great masses are all living in your precious country side getting more and more pissed of at the elite that put them there.
It's the narrow minded focus on greed an money grabbing that will, in the end, be the downfall of those so preoccupied with profits. Who's money are you going to take if nobody has any ? You raid the fields and take the food?
The answer here is actually pretty simple. Big buisiness can either play allong and sustain the economical model that made them rich in the first place or the can get lost. Why should I pay taxes that pay for improving roads, used by buisiness to transport their wares, if I can not afford a car anymore? Why should I send my kid to school for an education when I know there will not be a job at the end of that road?
I think if you look closely you will see that the group that has just a bit more then the minimum to sustain their livelyhood is by far in the majority. That means that a lot of buisiness actualy comes from them. Sending them to the country side would bankrupt a lot of buisinesses. - Posted by: NemesisNL Posted on: 06/06/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
